About The Position

As a Licensed Plumber at Central Plumbing, CP, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. Your expertise will directly impact the functionality and safety of water supply, drainage, and heating systems, contributing to the overall success of construction projects and customer satisfaction. You will collaborate closely with contractors, engineers, and other tradespeople to interpret blueprints and technical drawings, ensuring compliance with local codes and regulations. This role demands a high level of precision, problem-solving skills, and adherence to safety standards to prevent system failures and hazards. Ultimately, your work will support the infrastructure that enables communities and businesses to operate smoothly and sustainably.

Requirements

  • Valid plumbing license as required by the state or local jurisdiction.
  • Completion of an accredited plumbing apprenticeship or equivalent training program.
  • Proven experience working as a plumber in residential, commercial, or industrial environments.
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing codes, safety standards, and best practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional certifications in specialized plumbing systems such as gas piping or medical gas systems.
  • Experience with green plumbing technologies and water conservation systems.
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or plumbing design software.
  • Strong customer service skills and experience working directly with clients.
  • Ability to mentor junior plumbers or apprentices.

Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems including pipes, fixtures, and water heaters in new and existing buildings.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems.
  • Diagnose plumbing issues and provide effective solutions to minimize downtime and prevent future problems.
  • Ensure all plumbing work complies with local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with construction teams and clients to schedule work and provide updates on project progress.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to extend the lifespan of plumbing systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each job.
  • Use specialized tools and equipment safely and efficiently to complete tasks.
