About The Position

Under the supervision and direction of a pharmacist, conducts a wide range of delegated technical and clerical functions necessary to support the provision of pharmacy products and services; supports departmental/organizational quality initiatives. Technical duties will include: compounding (sterile and non-sterile), packaging, and preparation of medication doses and IV products; refilling of various medication supply kits, carts, drawers, bags, etc.; maintenance of automated dispensing devices; inventory management. Clerical duties will include: answering incoming phone calls; billing; unit inspections; departmental cleaning and organizing; report generation and review; conducting billing and medication utilization audits; filing and record keeping. Employment Type: Limited Hours, 16 hours every 2 weeks Schedule: Every other Saturday and Sunday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm and 1:30 pm - 10:00 pm

Requirements

  • Licensed Pharmacy Technician OR Licensed Pharmacist Intern Certification Required
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required

Nice To Haves

  • Currently enrolled in, or pursuing a degree in a Pharmacy-related field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Pharmacist in the Provision of Pharmacy Services
  • Provides good customer relations in response to phone calls, Vocera..etc, and completes follow-up of requests.
  • Proficient in Medication Preparation and Replenishment
  • Proficient in the Daily Operation and Maintenance of Automated Distribution System (Pyxis)
  • Proficient in IV Admixture Procedures Including Using Aseptic Technique in the Preparation of Medications, Maintenance of the IV Compounding Area and Documentation Practices.
  • Assists with Medication Management Support Activities in Accordance with Regulatory Expectations and Departmental Quality Initiatives
  • Proficient in Obtaining and Billing for Medications and Pharmacy Supplies; Conducts Inventory Management Activities.
