A Day in the Life – Infusion Pharmacy Technician At the Cowell Family Cancer Center, Infusion Pharmacy Technicians play a vital role in supporting patients receiving specialized oncology treatments. Working closely with pharmacists and the infusion care team at Munson Healthcare, technicians help ensure medications are prepared accurately, safely, and efficiently to support high-quality cancer care. Key responsibilities include assisting pharmacists with the preparation of sterile IV medications for infusion therapies, maintaining medication and supply inventory, supporting medication documentation, and helping coordinate timely medication delivery for patient treatments. Technicians contribute directly to a collaborative care environment focused on safety, compassion, and precision. Successful team members demonstrate strong communication and customer service skills, exceptional organization, reliability, and close attention to detail while working in a fast-paced clinical setting. Infusion Pharmacy Technicians are an essential part of delivering safe, high-quality pharmaceutical care to patients undergoing infusion therapy. Physical Requirements This role involves repetitive use of hands and fingers for tasks such as preparing IV admixtures and operating computer systems. The position may require lifting and carrying items up to 40 pounds, including medication supplies, equipment, and IV solutions. Duties may also involve bending, stooping, or kneeling to access supplies or storage areas. Walking or standing for extended periods (typically 4–8 hours) is common, and team members must be able to safely operate pharmacy equipment used in medication preparation.
