Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Valid state license as a Dispensing Optician
  • Prior optical dispensing experience
  • Strong customer service skills: excellent communicator, active listener, and effective team builder
  • In-depth knowledge of current store merchandise
  • Eligibility to work in the United States (Work Permit/Green Card/Citizenship)
  • Comfortable embracing new technology and adapting to change
  • Previous experience in customer service and retail settings
  • Availability for flexible scheduling, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with a strong focus on relationship-building

Responsibilities

  • Welcome all customers warmly, exchange names, and ensure they are informed about the service process
  • Prioritize customer needs, providing prompt and efficient service
  • Precisely customize glasses and accurately insert prescriptions into lenses
  • Act as a leader in optical expertise, advocating for the team
  • Record measurements, adjust and fit eyewear meticulously, and ensure the final product meets standards and customer requirements
  • Engage customers to understand their needs through open-ended questions
  • Pay attention to details, seek clarity through follow-up questions, interpret verbal and non-verbal cues, and consult with Opticians as needed
  • Support co-workers in addressing complex product needs and prescriptions
  • Utilize technology efficiently and accurately, even during busy periods
  • Anticipate and resolve customer issues promptly, collaborating with management when necessary
  • Take pride in maintaining a clean, attractive, and organized store appearance
  • Communicate safety concerns to management and follow safe work practices
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, including discounts, promotions, and inventory management
  • Perform additional duties as needed, such as customer calls and eyewear dispensing
