Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience.
  • AL Nursing Home Administrator License to practice Health Care Administration in Long Term Care - NHA.
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare/Long-Term Care Administration, Nursing, or Social Work.
  • 5 years of supervisory/management experience.
  • Enrolled in Long-Term Care Administration Courses with the expectation of receiving a Nursing Home Administrator's License within one year of hire date.
  • Experience in long term care preferred.
  • Newly AL licensed administrator preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Nursing Home Administrator in ensuring delivery of the highest quality of care to patients and residents.
  • Lead the strategic initiatives for patient and resident services.
  • Lead community outreach and develop key industry relationships.
  • Initiate & implement innovative facility-wide planning to attain 5 Star rating status.
  • Lead resource management for all aspects of services.
  • Help organize the functions of the facility through appropriate departmentalization and delegation.
  • Assist with the effective utilization of the physical and financial resources of the facility.
  • Review and act upon the reports of authorized inspecting agencies with Administrator.
  • Maintain a system of responsible accounting, including budget and internal controls.
  • Aid Administrator in continuing programs of formal and informal education in health care, administrative and management areas.
  • Assist Administrator with recruitment, selection and retention of department managers.
  • Empower employees to perform at their highest level.
  • Ensure a work environment that encourages safety, longevity, growth and personal satisfaction for all staff.
  • Ensure a Continuous Quality Improvement Program is in place and appropriate follow-up occurs.
  • Assist in the development of mission statements, philosophies, goals and objectives for the facility.
  • Ensure effective communication among supervisors, residents, families and health care professionals.
  • May be required to drive for company business with either company vehicle or personal vehicle.
