About The Position

The Hematology/Oncology Infusion Clinic is seeking a dedicated individual to perform various patient care activities and related nonprofessional services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients. This position requires working 40 hours per week and involves assisting nursing service personnel with a variety of patient care duties. The role includes direct access to drug products and secure medication locations to manage the storage, handling, and disposal of medications in accordance with the Medication Storage and Handling Policy.

Requirements

  • High school graduate required.
  • Must demonstrate keyboarding skills and be familiar with computer use.
  • Previous hospital experience preferred.
  • Licensed Nursing Assistant in the State of NH required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with routine patient care activities under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, including performing ADLs, obtaining clinical data such as vital signs, heights, and weights.
  • Utilizes universal precautions, collects specimens, or performs point of care testing and records results in the medical record.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment by keeping hallways clear of excess equipment and emptying linen bags when full.
  • Assists visitors and answers telephones.
  • Assists new co-workers in learning the work of the department.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.
