About The Position

Under the direction of the Director and/or Nurse Manager, the Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) is responsible for providing direct and indirect patient care duties for a group of patients, from simple to complex, for the specialty population on the unit or department, under the guidance and supervision of the registered nurse. Night shift is from 6PM-6:30AM, with weekend and holiday requirements.

Requirements

• High school or equivalent (GED).
• Completion of a certificate program for Licensed Nursing Assistant.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification, or equivalent course credentialed by American Heart Association.
• Current New Hampshire State LNA license.
• Evidence of the ability to perform as a member of a team.

Responsibilities

• Performs activities of daily living and personal care needs under the guidance and supervision of the Registered Nurse.
• Performs technical skills/procedures relating to physical, mental health and social needs of patients under the guidance and supervision of the RN.
• Documents care provided and reports to the RN observations of patient's physical, social and mental status and basic patient data collected.
• Demonstrates adherence to safe patient handling policy.
• Demonstrates time management skills.
• Maintains the patient care areas to ensure cleanliness, safety and supplies of material and equipment.
• Receives delegated work adhering to the five rights of delegation.
• Performs job specific requirements and other duties as assigned.
• Serves as a preceptor for new employees.
