About The Position

Excelsior Wellness Center, a subsidiary of Excelsior Wellness, serves a broad and diverse base of individuals and families with the primary aim of identifying goals and making positive steps toward accomplishing them. In our community, we are advocates and hold fast to the belief that children and families have the potential to be safer, stronger, and more satisfied in the lives they lead. The Mental Health Therapist in the Respite Program provides individual and group therapy to youth ages 6–17 using evidence-based practices including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). This position offers a dynamic and creative therapeutic environment, with opportunities to provide services both indoors and outdoors through engaging, activity-based interventions. As the Mental Health Therapist in the Respite Program, you play a vital role in helping youth develop the skills and confidence needed to navigate life's challenges. Whether offering a DBT skill during an outdoor walk, guiding a mindfulness practice in a group, or supporting emotional regulation during play-based activities, your therapeutic presence makes healing both accessible and engaging. Your work bridges evidence-based care with real-life connection—creating meaningful moments that foster growth, safety, and resilience.
