The NC Department of Adult Correction is one of the largest state agencies with more than 14,000 employees. It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes state prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community. Other divisions include Administration, Health Services, Rehabilitation & Reentry, Special Operations and the Post-Release Supervision & Parole Commission. We have a mission that matters! The Department of Adult Correction, Division of Community Supervision is looking to fill a Licensed Mental Health Professional role within the Program Services Branch in the Mental Health section. This position is classified as Field/Home-as-duty. Additional details are provided below. The position will report to the Behavioral Health Supervisor and will serve as a consultant to Probation/Parole Officers who supervise individuals diagnosed with serious mental illnesses, severe substance use disorders, serious medical conditions, and/or intellectual or developmental disabilities. Individuals with these conditions are serving a probationary sentence or are under a period of parole or post-release supervision and have demonstrated functional impairments in multiple social determinants of health. Individuals under community supervision may have been convicted of sex offenses, domestic violence, gang affiliation, and other specialty populations. This position is designated as Field/Home-as-duty. Some position duties will be performed in the Community Supervision District Offices and the community, with the majority of responsibilities requiring telework. Position will have primary duties in Divisions III, but occasional statewide travel will also be required (Click Here to view our Division Map).
