About The Position

Are you interested in starting a career with New York State? Central New York Psychiatric Center is recruiting a Licensed Mental Health Counselor to provide clinical mental health counseling and psychotherapeutic services to individuals with mental illness. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, you will perform a wide variety of treatment services including: Provide direct mental health counseling and psychotherapeutic treatment, conduct risk assessments, clinical evaluations, and intake screenings, document and maintain records and treatment plans, and provide individual and group counseling and education.

Requirements

• Licensed and currently registered as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York State
• Reachable on the current Licensed Mental Health Counselor eligible list for competitive class appointment
• One year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law (for candidates from within State Service)

Responsibilities

• Provide direct mental health counseling and psychotherapeutic treatment
