About The Position

Los Angeles CIRCLE Licensed Mental Health Clinician (LMHC) / Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) at Canopy Roots About the LA CIRCLE Program Canopy Roots is a contracted provider with The City of Los Angeles, Mayor's Office of Community Safety (MOCS), to operate the Los Angeles CIRCLE (Crisis and Incident Response through Community-led Engagement) program. This is a 24/7 unarmed response program that deploys trained teams to address non-urgent and non-violent LAPD 911 calls related to unhoused individuals experiencing crisis. Program goals include disrupting the reciprocal relationship between houselessness and the criminal justice system, de-escalating and supporting stabilization to people experiencing homelessness, and promoting sustained positive outcomes for community members through compassionate and trauma-informed intervention and connection to appropriate services and resources, including case management. Canopy Roots will be operating the CIRCLE Program in the Hollywood Zone of Los Angeles. About the role Canopy Roots is an innovative mental health organization based in Minnesota that offers culturally affirming crisis response services. As the Canopy Roots LA CIRCLE LMHC/LCSW, you will oversee the clinical aspects of service delivery and directly supervise the Response Team Leads and Response Team Outreach Advocates. Expectations for this role include setting a consistent and exemplary example of Canopy's values in action. This position is held by a Licensed Mental Health Clinician (LMHC), including those holding LPCC or LMFT licensure, or a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). The role requires the LMHC/LCSW to be on-call for consultation outside of work hours, in rotation with the Program Manager, and as a backup to the response team 24 hours a day. The LMHC/LCSW is supervised by the LA CIRCLE Program Manager.

Requirements

  • Holds active mental health licensure in the state of California, including LPCC, LMFT, and LCSW
  • 3+ years of post licensure experience providing mental health treatment services
  • A year or more of successful supervision/leadership experience
  • Experience successfully working with unhoused populations, BIPOC, and other marginalized communities
  • Demonstrates excellent written/verbal communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience working in treatment settings that include mental health crisis intervention
  • Strong knowledge of community resources and levels of care for mental health treatment in Los Angeles, CA
  • Experience interacting with stakeholders in government and/or law enforcement
  • Lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Stand for at least 30 minutes at a time
  • Walk for at least 15 minutes at a time
  • Run for at least 10 seconds

Responsibilities

  • Support 24/7/365 Response Team coverage, including on-call duties in rotation with the Program Manager
  • Provide clinical oversight of service provision ensuring trauma-informed and culturally responsive crisis intervention and community support
  • Provide regular supervision and performance evaluation to Response Team Leads and Response Team Outreach Advocates, including in-field shadowing and evaluation
  • Partner with People Operations Generalist/Admin Coordinator and Program Manager for recruitment, hiring, and staff engagement initiatives
  • Facilitate team meetings for the purpose of skill development, consultation, and 0. group discussion, in c2ollaboration with Program Manager
  • Facilitate staff training in collaboration with the Program Manager to meet program needs and ensure clinically sound and high quality service delivery
  • Support effective communication across teams within the 24-hour program to facilitate team cohesion and optimize service delivery
  • Collaborate with appropriate stakeholders to facilitate Critical Incident Debriefings f or program staff as needed
  • Collaborate with Program Manager, Leads, and Outreach Advocates to address issues and continuously improve processes and service delivery.
  • In collaboration with the Program Manager and other stakeholders, develop, review, and update program policies and procedures to ensure operational effectiveness, safety, and regulatory compliance and effectively communicate changes to team members
  • Ensure program compliance with data collection policy for outcome measures
  • Support collaboration with technical stakeholders and the Contract Operations Manager to maintain positive relationships with relevant entities, including the City of Los Angeles, first responders, and community providers.
