About The Position

We are seeking a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) with hospital experience to support inpatient medical and surgical units. The LMSW will provide psychosocial support, crisis intervention, and discharge planning while collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Licensed Master Social Worker
• Active Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) license issued by NYSED
• Primary source verification of licensure required

Nice To Haves

• Experience in inpatient medicine, surgery (Med/Surg), or rehabilitation settings preferred
• Hospital experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychosocial assessments for patients and families
• Provide crisis intervention and short-term counseling
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop patient care plans
• Coordinate care, referrals, and discharge planning
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in compliance with hospital standards
• Support patients and families during medical or psychiatric emergencies
• Ensure compliance with institutional policies and patient confidentiality standards
