About The Position

A healthcare organization in New York City is seeking a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) to support a Child Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP) . This role focuses on providing psychosocial assessment, crisis intervention, and care coordination for children and adolescents in an acute hospital-based setting. The ideal candidate will have prior hospital experience and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, rotating-shift environment.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Licensed Master Social Worker
• Experience working with children and adolescents required
• Ability to work rotating schedules, including weekends
• Active Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) license issued by NYSED
• Primary Source Verification of licensure required

Nice To Haves

• Hospital-based experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychosocial assessments for pediatric and adolescent patients
• Provide crisis intervention and short-term counseling services
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary clinical teams to support treatment planning
• Coordinate care, referrals, and discharge planning as appropriate
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards
• Support patients and families during psychiatric emergencies
• Adhere to all institutional policies, procedures, and confidentiality requirements
