About The Position

Supervises subordinate Security Staff including Security Officers and Parking Attendants. Monitors the activity of subordinate and ensures staff follows established policies, procedures and guidelines. Performs Desk Operations: Completes all necessary paper work including but not limited to blotter entries, shift reports, incident reports and property reports. Answers incoming telephone calls. Dispatches personnel including facilities and security staff to calls for service. Monitors all alarms and systems in the Security Command Center. Sells parking permits and issues parking passes pursuant to hospital and department policies and procedures. Other Duties Include but are not limited to: Is responsible for the safekeeping of all patient property and valuables in the custody of the Protective Services/Security Department. Is responsible for the safekeeping of all funds stored in the departmental safe relative to the Hospital's Visitor Parking Program. Is responsible for all activity inside the Security Command Center insuring that the suite remains safe and that no unauthorized personnel enter the area. Responds to all calls for service. Insures that subordinate staff conduct all security rounds. Performs Fire Drills as scheduled in conjunction with the Safety Manager or their designee. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • NYS Security License and current Training Certificate
  • Active Police officer certification; active police officers will need to obtain NYS security guard license within 90 days of hire
  • High School Diploma / GED
  • 2 year's experience preferred
  • Valid NYS Driver's License
  • Computer skills, good oral, written communications, interpersonal and analytical skills sufficient to document investigative activities.
