About The Position

The Licensed Lead Security Officer at Samaritan Hospital is a full-time position that operates on a day shift. This role involves supervising subordinate security staff, including Security Officers and Parking Attendants. Requirements

  • NYS Security License and current Training Certificate.
  • Active Police officer certification; active police officers must obtain NYS security guard license within 90 days of hire.
  • High School Diploma / GED.
  • 2 years of experience preferred.
  • Valid NYS Driver's License.
  • Computer skills, good oral, written communications, interpersonal and analytical skills sufficient to document investigative activities.

Responsibilities

  • Assigns subordinate personnel to specific posts and duties.
  • Monitors the activity of subordinate staff and ensures adherence to established policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Completes necessary paperwork including blotter entries, shift reports, incident reports, and property reports.
  • Answers incoming telephone calls and dispatches personnel to calls for service.
  • Monitors all alarms and systems in the Security Command Center.
  • Sells parking permits and issues parking passes according to hospital and department policies.
  • Responsible for the safekeeping of all patient property and valuables in the custody of the Protective Services/Security Department.
  • Responsible for the safekeeping of all funds stored in the departmental safe related to the Hospital's Visitor Parking Program.
  • Ensures that the Security Command Center remains safe and that no unauthorized personnel enter the area.
  • Responds to all calls for service and ensures subordinate staff conduct all security rounds.
  • Performs fire drills as scheduled in conjunction with the Safety Manager or their designee.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
