Oklahoma City Indian Clinic (OKCIC) is a non profit corporation that provides culturally sensitive health care to the American Indian population. OKCIC services not only include basic medical care, but also dental, optometry, behavioral health services, fitness, nutrition and other family programs. Oklahoma City Indian Clinic is hiring a Licensed Journeyman Plumber for our team! In this role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of skilled plumbing tasks, including installation, repair, maintenance, and testing of plumbing systems in residential and/or commercial settings. This role requires an individual who holds a current and valid Journeyman Plumber license, possesses a thorough knowledge of plumbing codes and regulations, and can work independently or as part of a team.

Requirements

  • Due to the safety-sensitive nature of this position, medical marijuana license holders who test positive for marijuana will not be qualified for this position.
  • Must align with OKCIC vision, mission and core values.
  • Current and Valid Journeyman Plumber License in the state of Oklahoma.
  • 3-5 years of verifiable experience as a licensed Journeyman Plumber.
  • In-depth knowledge of current plumbing codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings, weekends, and on-call rotations.

Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, including water supply lines, drainage systems, fixtures, appliances, and gas lines, in accordance with local, state, and federal plumbing codes.
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to determine the layout of plumbing systems and materials required.
  • Perform rough-ins, top-outs, and fixture installations for new construction and remodeling projects.
  • Operate and maintain a variety of tools and equipment common to the plumbing trade.
  • Conduct diagnostic tests to locate and address leaks, clogs, and other plumbing issues.
  • Install and repair water heaters (tank and tankless), sewage pumps, garbage disposals, and other related equipment.
  • Respond to service calls promptly and professionally.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose complex plumbing problems quickly and accurately.
  • Clearly explain the scope of work and potential solutions to customers.
  • Ensure all repair work is completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards.
  • Perform preventative maintenance checks on existing plumbing infrastructure.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety policies, procedures, and relevant plumbing codes (e.g., IPC, UPC).
  • Obtain necessary permits and ensure all work passes inspection.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each job.
  • Safely handle and dispose of plumbing waste materials.
  • Interact with customers in a courteous, professional, and respectful manner.
  • Provide clear communication regarding job status, timelines, and necessary repairs.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area, including company vehicles and customer premises.
  • Mentor and supervise apprentice plumbers, as required.
