About The Position

The Licensed Journeyman Refrigeration Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and installing HVAC and related equipment. This role involves day-to-day coordination of specific agreements or projects to ensure contractual commitments are met efficiently. The technician will perform maintenance and service at customer locations, including preventative maintenance, site surveys, modifications, and repairs to commercial HVAC equipment. Key duties also include coordinating with service estimators for repair proposals, communicating effectively with customers and internal management, and submitting all required paperwork and reports in a timely manner. The position requires participation in an on-call rotation for nights and weekends.

Requirements

  • Prior Commercial HVAC experience or relevant schooling
  • EPA certified
  • Skilled in the use of personal computers with Microsoft Office or the equivalents used by customers
  • Good communication skills
  • Participate in service on-call rotation (24/7 on-call for approximately 1 week/month)
  • Adherence to Company safety standards at all times
  • Valid drivers license with no major traffic violations or DUI's in the last 5 years
  • Ability to walk, stand, sit, kneel for long periods of time
  • Ability to get on and off a ladder and work off of a ladder for long periods of time
  • Ability to regularly lift and move up to 10 lbs., and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in diverse environments (noisy equipment rooms, rooftops, extreme weather conditions, areas where risk of electrical shock is present)
  • Ability to work at various heights
  • Ability to solve problems effectively by seeking out relevant information in print and online
  • Ability to visualize potential outcomes
  • Ability to work well with others and alone if needed
  • Ability to color coordinate electrical wire and cables
  • Ability to travel out of town as needed with overnight stays if necessary
  • Ability to work nights and weekends as the business requires
  • Skills will consist of servicing a variety of HVAC equipment such as Water Source Heat Pumps, Package Units, Split Systems, Boilers, Chillers, VAV Units, Cooling Towers and VFDs
  • Must understand basic controls of such systems
  • Knowledge of how to use gages, add refrigerant and how to use a vacuum pump
  • High school diploma or equivalent with associated HVAC technical training and/or experience
  • Adherence to Uniform policy
  • Drug free work place

  • Turn in all required paperwork and reports in a timely manner
  • Participate in service on-call rotation
