About The Position

This position focuses on maintaining the reliability and safety of electrical infrastructure across manufacturing/commercial facilities. The role requires diagnosing complex electrical issues, performing preventive maintenance on distribution systems, and executing repairs that keep operations running smoothly. Working independently and as part of a facilities team, the electrician ensures all work meets stringent safety standards and local code requirements. This hands-on position demands technical expertise, strong problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to maintaining safe, efficient electrical systems that support critical business operations. Compensation is determined per applicable union contract and collective bargaining agreement.

Requirements

  • Applicant must be a member of IBEW Union (Local 11 for Los Angeles County/El Segundo or Local 441 for Orange County/Huntington Beach) in good standing
  • Valid California journeyman electrician license and current certifications (3-5 years of experience for journeyman level; master electrician license requires additional experience beyond journeyman level)
  • California-specific state-level electrician certification beyond journeyman license
  • 3-5 years of commercial electrical maintenance experience (minimum for journeyman level)
  • Proficiency with electrical diagnostic and testing equipment
  • Strong knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC), California Electrical Code (Title 24), local codes, and safety regulations
  • Ability to read electrical drawings and technical specifications
  • Physical capability to lift 50 pounds and work from ladders or in confined spaces, including extended periods of standing, kneeling, or overhead work; tolerance for working in extreme temperatures, confined spaces, and at heights
  • Ability to pass extensive background check and obtain required security clearances for facility access
  • Compliance with prevailing wage requirements where applicable

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with building automation or energy management systems
  • Additional certifications such as OSHA 30 or arc flash safety training
  • Background in office buildings, data centers, or similar commercial facilities
  • Familiarity with emergency power systems and generators
  • Experience using CMMS software for work order tracking
  • Knowledge of LED lighting and energy-efficient electrical systems

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on electrical distribution systems, lighting, panels, and power equipment
  • Diagnose electrical problems using testing equipment and implement solutions that restore system functionality
  • Install and modify electrical wiring, outlets, circuit breakers, panels, and fixtures to support facility needs
  • Respond promptly to emergency electrical issues to minimize downtime and restore normal operations
  • Maintain accurate records of all work performed, materials used, and system modifications
  • Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with OSHA standards and local electrical codes
  • Collaborate with facility management and other trades to coordinate electrical work and support building projects
  • Read and interpret electrical blueprints and schematics to execute installations and repairs
