About The Position

The Maintenance Electrician is a position within the Facilities Management department at Primary Children's Hospital in Lehi, Utah. This role requires active participation in or completion of an electrical apprenticeship or training program, along with an active and current Journeyman electrical license through DOPL. The Maintenance Electrician II is responsible for maintaining and repairing electrical systems and equipment, performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting electrical problems, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and national electrical codes and standards. The position involves working closely with other members of the facilities management team to coordinate electrical work and may include other maintenance tasks as needed. The role is full-time, scheduled Monday-Friday from 7 am to 3:30 pm, with an on-call rotation for seasonal needs.

Requirements

  • Journeyman license for electrical through DOPL, active and current
  • Experience as an electrician and participation in or completion of without certification an electrician apprenticeship or training program.
  • Demonstrated abilities in Electrical Repair, Light Electrical Work, Electrical Systems, Electrical Testing Equipment, National Electrical Code (NEC), Electrical Construction, Mechanical Equipment, Electrical Equipment, Electrical Installations, Electrical Projects, Electrical Safety, Troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment by following established safety procedures and protocols.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions.
  • The ability to read and understand mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and architectural drawings and plans.
  • A valid driver license may be required for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains, and repairs electrical systems and equipment in the hospital, including lighting, power, and control systems.
  • Performs regular preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment to ensure they are operating safely and efficiently.
  • Troubleshoots and diagnose electrical problems and make necessary repairs.
  • Ensures all electrical work is performed in compliance with local, state, and national electrical codes and standards.
  • Works closely with other members of the facilities management team to coordinate electrical work with other maintenance and repair activities.
  • Demonstrates a level of competency to perform work on routine to moderately complex systems.
