About The Position

The Licensed Customs Broker works in collaboration with the Import Operations Manager - CHB - and reports to the LOGISTEED-America, Inc. Branch Manager. This position's primary responsibility is to ensure the Brokerage Operations Team have the tools, training and leadership to perform at top capacity. This role will involve and support the day-to-day operations of the Import and Brokerage team as required. Being a Change Agent, this role will be responsible for ensuring best practices are achieved. As a true team player, this position will ensure effective oversight and training of the Brokerage Operations staff.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years brokerage experience
  • Strong classification and regulatory knowledge
  • Minimum of 3 years of managerial/supervisory experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Licensed Customs Broker
  • Fluency in English
  • Ability to understand and comply with Compliance Programs
  • Ability to pass all TSA background requirements
  • Must pass drug and criminal background check

Responsibilities

  • Perform tasks safely
  • Ensure area housekeeping requirements are met
  • Communicate both orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner
  • Meet established procedures and productivity, safety and quality standards
  • Establish relationships with steamship lines, agents, government agencies, docks, trucking companies and all other entities involved to achieve sustainable results
  • Involved in the creation and maintaining standard operation procedures
  • Align staff, systems and processes with the company's goal of developing an accountable culture that will achieve the company's desired results
  • Support daily freight forwarding brokerage operations as required
  • Conduct classification research upon request for complicated items
  • Train and develop Freight Forwarding Brokerage Operations Team
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant legislation, political situations and other factors that could affect the movement of freight
  • Manage multiple customers across the globe coordinating shipments between multiple carriers and modes of transportation
  • Possess knowledge of state, federal and international applicable laws and regulations as they relate to primary services provided
  • Self-direct workflow, meeting all goals outlined by manager
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager
  • Work with team to problem solve issues as necessary
  • Be culturally aware and sensitive of global partners' customs
  • Travel as required
