About The Position

Quakertown Veterinary Clinic is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Crematory Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining cremation equipment, ensuring that all processes are conducted in a respectful and professional manner. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, as well as the ability to handle sensitive situations with care and empathy. Shift expectation: Saturday and Sunday

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver’s license required
Certification to operate crematory equipment required

Previous animal care background is a plus

Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to stay calm and efficient during times of high tension

Responsibilities

Act with a high level of uncompromising integrity, ethics and compassion for the care of deceased pets
Work within established safety guidelines and utilize appropriate PPE equipment
Complete all required documentation in an accurate, organized and legible manner
Properly label all deceased pets prior to the start of the cremation process
Prepare and package cremated pet remains with care and dignity
Deliver cremated remains to the appropriate party
Maintain the crematorium, equipment and adjacent facilities
Promote positive working relationships and efficient and effective communication
Communicate effectively with all hospital teams to find solutions and resolve concerns
Adhere to all company policies, procedures and guidelines
Perform other duties as deemed necessary
