Requirements

  • Master’s degree in behavioral health, Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related discipline.
  • Unrestricted license as a Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMHP) in Washington State and/or Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or associate license (LICSWA, LMHCA, etc.).
  • 3 years of experience in mental health, substance abuse treatment, or relevant work.
  • Knowledge of the Washington State behavioral health system of care and resources within it.
  • Must be able to perform Safe Clinch patient restraint techniques.
  • Complete all credentialing requirements within the required time period.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with children, youth, families, and adults with behavioral health issues.
  • Knowledge of and experience with the Washington State involuntary treatment process.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates admission intakes, treatment planning, discharge planning, obtaining collateral, individual therapy, group counseling, life lesson skills, clinical interventions, crisis management, family therapy, support system development.
  • Works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary treatment team to coordinate care and discharge planning for individuals, their family members, clinics, local providers, and/or other referral sources.
  • Conducts a thorough, accurate, clinically sound Psychosocial Assessment with the individual in a timely manner.
  • Reviews and signs off on Psychosocial Assessments completed by Certified AAC staff members.
  • Educates and informs individuals of consents for treatment and authorizations for use and disclosures.
  • Participates regularly in Interdisciplinary Treatment Team meetings.
  • Collaborates with the Treatment Team to develop and implement an individualized person-centered Treatment Plan.
  • Gathers collateral from the individual and involved parties to provide a thorough assessment of what an individuals' needs are for treatment and discharge.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of the Involuntary Treatment Act (ITA) and Evaluation and Treatment (E&T) Involuntary Commitment process.
  • Actively coordinates care and provides referrals for individuals to ensure services are coordinated with both facility staff and external providers.
  • Identifies and addresses gaps in service needs for participating parties in service delivery to the individual.
  • Conducts brief intervention, individual, family, and group counselling within scope of practice.
  • Documents all services and individual activities appropriately.
  • Provides internal education regarding DBT, trauma informed care, harm reduction, and service plan documentation.
  • Provides case management services to promote recovery and community reintegration.
  • Maintains the Electronic Health Record (EHR), including documentation of activities performed as part of the service delivery process.
  • Prepares clinical reports and individualized service plans utilizing agency electronic clinical documentation software.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of the Washington State behavioral health system and potential funding sources.
  • Participates in individual and group supervision as required.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
