About The Position

The Behavioral Health Therapist (BHT) at the Behavioral Health Center in Springboro is responsible for providing intensive behavioral health services to patients dealing with eating disorders. This role involves conducting diagnostic assessments, delivering individual, group, and family-based psychotherapy, and providing crisis intervention when necessary. The BHT collaborates closely with patients and their families to develop individualized treatment plans that specifically address the identified areas of concern. This includes assisting patients and their families in understanding how to effectively manage symptoms and behaviors associated with their behavioral health diagnoses. In addition to direct patient care, the BHT plays a crucial role in helping families navigate complex personal and environmental challenges that may hinder effective social functioning. The therapist is responsible for delivering clinical services that are accessible to the patient, their family, and other significant individuals in the patient's life. The BHT is expected to work independently, demonstrating strong organizational skills, while also identifying opportunities for collaboration with other departments and units within the hospital. As a professional member of the interdisciplinary team, the BHT participates in team meetings and collaborates with community agencies to ensure comprehensive care. The therapist also provides education and consultation to healthcare professionals and the community regarding the psychosocial factors that impact patient care. Throughout their work, the BHT is expected to embody and model the values of Dayton Children's, ensuring effective interactions with patients, families, and treatment team members while delivering excellent care.
