About The Position
Under general direction of certificated or classified administrator, provides clinical supervision and direct services to assist students and families with their personal and social problems; assists students and families in understanding the causes of their problems and works with them to modify and change attitudes and behavior to facilitate learning. The class of Licensed Clinical Social Worker works in a school setting to provide clinical supervision of clinical social workers and other employees and deals with students and parents on a professional level. Incumbents supervise or directly provide psycho-therapy to students and parents who have social, truancy, delinquency or other problems which hamper their ability to learn. They make professional judgments and recommend courses of action to improve school attendance and achievement.
