About The Position

The Licensed/Clinical Social Worker position at Staffing Solutions Organization (SSO) involves providing essential social and emotional support to students, staff, and families in nonpublic schools across New York. The role focuses on ensuring equal access to educational resources by addressing mental and behavioral health needs, promoting inclusivity, and enhancing the overall school climate. Clinical Social Workers will collaborate with school staff, conduct training, and implement targeted interventions to foster a supportive learning environment.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in social work or a related field required.
  • Must be a licensed or certified New York State School Social Worker.
  • Experience working with children who are at-risk or have emotional/social/behavioral needs is required.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based programs aligned with the CASEL Framework.
  • Ability to design and deliver professional development and coach adult learners.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledgeable about community counseling resources and effective counseling techniques.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in school counseling, school social work, or a related field is preferred.
  • Specialized knowledge or training in interventions designed to accelerate student growth and address social emotional wellness is preferred.
  • Experience in training and coaching staff is preferred.
  • Experience working in a MTSS environment and progress monitoring/data is preferred.
  • Experience in Social Emotional Learning, Mental and Behavioral Health interventions, and/or Trauma Informed Practices is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with school staff including social workers, counselors, and other mental health professionals.
  • Serve as a liaison between school teams, families, and the community to ensure positive outcomes for all learners.
  • Support school-level curriculum and social, emotional, and mental health goals to improve student outcomes.
  • Promote inclusivity and equity by providing professional development in integrated SEL instruction and culturally responsive practices.
  • Provide consultation, training, and coaching to staff, parents, and administrators on best practices in social and emotional learning.
  • Conduct site-based needs assessments and design programs in collaboration with school leadership.
  • Work directly with students through SEL and mental health groups or individual sessions to teach foundational skills.
  • Design and implement school- and community-based programs aligned with the CASEL Framework.
  • Provide integrated supports during instructional time and develop mentoring strategies.
  • Consult, model, and provide professional development for school staff to support integrated social emotional curriculum.
  • Conduct family sessions to guide parents on supporting their children's social and emotional needs.
  • Keep detailed records and collect data to monitor program implementation and student progress.
  • Provide counseling in areas such as substance abuse, family relationships, and peer relationships.
  • Assist with support for students and staff dealing with the impacts of COVID-19 and conduct suicide risk assessments.
  • Establish ongoing communication with families to foster partnerships and promote engagement.
