About The Position

The Licensed Clinical Social Worker or School Psychologist with LPC position is part of the APPLE Grant program at Jersey City Public Schools. This is a full-time, 10-month position that operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 2:55 pm, from September through June. The role involves providing clinical and counseling supervision to interns, practicum students, and licensed-eligible staff within the district.

Requirements

• Applicants must be licensed for 3 years and have a clinical supervisory certificate
• Should possess excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
• Applicants should possess flexibility, patience and solid communications skills
• Applicants must also be highly organized, able to multitask and adjust to changes in school environments
• Applicants must have reliable transportation

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree in Social Work or Counseling School Psychology
• NJ certificate as a LCSW, School Psychologist LPC
• Experience as a clinical counselor
• Eligibility to serve as a clinical supervisor for in the field of social work, and/or school psychology

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical supervision of interns and oversee service delivery and documentation as part of a clinical team
• Provide clinical interventions to support students in a school setting
• Provide group and individual counseling to students with a focus on improving social emotional skills through cognitive behavior therapy
• Provide trauma informed practices to students in need
• Assess and analyze pre and post outcomes
• Plan, organize, and direct Project Resilience initiatives
• Develop and facilitate Professional Development
• Provide guidance to parents and plan, organize and facilitate parent groups and community forums
• Prepare monthly reports
• Collaborate and coordinate services
• Provide and plan staff development
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Student Life and Personnel Services
