About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated Licensed Clinical Social Worker to be a therapist in the Substance Use Intervention Team (SUIT) clinic. Position Highlights: The SUIT LCSW Psychotherapist will provide psychotherapy services to patients struggling with addiction and other mental health diagnoses. To best support the mental health needs of this patient population, we are looking for candidates with a strong background in mental health and substance use disorder treatment. The preferred candidate will have experience with medically and psychosocially complex patients. Job Summary: The SUIT LCSW provides patient-centered and trauma-informed psychotherapy services to the substance using patient population utilizing evidence based modalities including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. The SUIT LCSW carries out comprehensive psychotherapy intake assessments to develop a plan of care for patients and works collaboratively with psychotherapy patients and the multidisciplinary SUIT team to develop therapy goals and provide the necessary tools, skills, and resources to help achieve those goals.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Social Work.
  • Licensed Social Worker (LCSW) in State of Illinois.
  • Two years' experience in healthcare, care management, mental health and/or social services.

  • Professional qualities such as initiative, self-reflection, commitment, responsiveness and adaptability.
  • Knowledge of care management, community-based interventions, assessment, counseling and/or motivational interviewing.
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Office and others).

Responsibilities

  • Works directly with patients and their families to address unmet needs and provide the necessary social work services them achieve their care goals.
  • Carries out comprehensive social work assessments by phone or in-person to develop a plan of care for the patient and/or family.
  • Connects patients and their families to relevant resources, both at Rush and in the community, to address their needs.
  • Provides care management and/or support programming for aforementioned population as outlined by Manager.
  • Documents all client interactions in either the Epic, LCM software and/or other spaces as indicated by Manager.
  • Maintains relationships with referring Rush clinics through consistent and timely communication.
  • Promotes Rush University System for Health clinical services by referring clients to relevant Rush clinics.
  • Represents the department at meetings, conferences or other public engagements on an as-needed basis.
