About The Position

The position involves providing psychosocial assessment, counseling, and treatment to patients directly. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of various psychological aspects and the ability to evaluate and treat a range of mental health disorders.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in social work from an accredited institution of higher education, including an internship meeting professional standards.
  • Must have provided psychological services on an inpatient, outpatient, or consultative basis in the past 12 months.
  • Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in New Hampshire and Vermont.

Responsibilities

  • Provides complete psychosocial assessments of patients and families, including abilities, aptitudes, interests, motivation, and psychological aspects of physical illnesses, accidents, injuries, or disabilities.
  • Evaluates, diagnoses, and provides treatment for patients with anxiety disorders, mood disorders, substance use disorders, aggressive behavior, conduct disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, ADHD, eating disorders, and developmental disorders.
  • Establishes achievable treatment goals with clients utilizing appropriate types of psychotherapy such as behavior therapy, cognitive therapy, crisis intervention, family/couples therapy, group therapy, counseling, and/or supportive cognitive therapy.
  • Observes, describes, diagnoses, evaluates, treats, consults, interprets, and modifies human behavior by applying psychological principles, methods, or procedures to patients suffering from mental, behavioral, or emotional disorders or disabilities.
  • Collaborates effectively with team members when appropriate.
  • Documents objective, concise, and pertinent clinical data in the medical record.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.
