About The Position

The position involves providing therapeutic services in both inpatient and outpatient settings for patients who are inebriated or dependent on substances. The role includes facilitating individual, family, and group counseling, crisis intervention, patient education, treatment planning, and assessment. The professional will be responsible for contributing to patient treatment plans and collaborating with other disciplines to develop therapy programs. A key requirement is the ability to assess patient problems and conceptualize them within an accepted theoretical framework, alongside a commitment to professional ethics.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related human service field.
• Certification or license from an approved credentialing organization as a provider of services to the target population within 18 months.
• Certification by the North Carolina Substance Abuse Professional Certification Board as a counselor (CSAS).
• Licensure by the North Carolina Substance Abuse Professional Practice Board as a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS) or as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
• BCLS for healthcare providers from the American Heart Association required within three months of employment.
• Crisis Intervention Certification within three months of employment, renewed bi-annually for the first year and annually thereafter.
• Two years of professional experience working with the population served.
