The Licensed Bridge Project Engineer at Ardurra will be responsible for performing detailed design engineering work for bridge projects of varying sizes and complexities. This role involves independent planning and execution of engineering tasks, mentoring junior engineers, and utilizing professional engineering judgment to solve engineering problems. The position is based in Boise, Idaho, and requires a licensed professional engineer with significant experience in bridge design.

  • Perform structural calculations and analysis on bridge structures including modeling and detailing structural drawings under minimal supervision.
  • Work on bridge projects that include steel plate girder, prestress concrete, segmental and cable, box culverts, and interchange design for highway and railway projects.
  • Select standard bridge engineering/design procedures, develop structural details using specialized structural design and analysis software, and perform structural load calculations and assist with geometric layout and quantity development.
  • Produce designs and contract documents for bridge projects.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer with the ability to register in multiple states.
  • 5+ years of engineering experience, primarily in bridge design, with demonstrated experience through projects worked on.
  • Practical experience in the analysis and design of structures using industry-standard software such as OpenBridge Designer, FB-MultiPier, and PTC Mathcad.
  • Proficient in producing bridge plans using CAD software, preferably Bentley OpenBridge Designer.
  • Experience with ITD, UDOT, WSDOT, WYDOT, and LHTAC projects is a plus.
  • Experience in multiple design materials and various construction types is a plus.
  • Ability to coordinate engineering work and interface with other disciplines and clients.
  • Strong mentoring skills for junior engineers and ability to provide input to clients as needed.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Highly motivated with strong personal skills.
  • Experience with various construction types and design materials.
  • Familiarity with state transportation departments' projects.
