The ideal candidate will be independently motivated to provide excellent service while effectively communicating with your team and supervisor. They will liaise with Direct Support Professionals, Caregivers, and Supports Coordination Unit to support individual client's goals. Summary: The Licensed Behavior Specialist (LBS) acts as the lead clinician and supervisor on the case of a member diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). This position is responsible for the oversight of technicians and support staff and for tracking and modifying a member's goals and progress.

Requirements

  • Be licensed in PA as a psychologist, professional counselor, marriage and family therapist, clinical social worker, social worker, behavior specialist, certified nurse practitioner or a professional with a scope of practice that includes overseeing the provision of ABA services and have one of the following:
  • A certification as a BCaBA or other undergraduate-level certification in behavior analysis that is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies
  • A minimum of 1 year of full-time experience providing ABA services and a minimum of 12 credits in ABA from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the US Department of Education
  • A minimum of 1 year of full-time experience providing ABA services under the supervision of a professional with a certification as a BCBA or other graduate-level certification in behavior analysis that is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies or the American National Standards Institute and a minimum of 40 hours of training related to ABA approved by the Department or provided by a continuing education provider approved by the BACB
  • Experience working with individuals with behavioral challenges in educational or clinical settings
  • Strong understanding of behavior analysis principles and intervention strategies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations and professionals
  • Proficient in data collection and analysis related to behavior tracking
  • All RBL BH Children's Services employees are required to have the following clearances and training:
  • Child Abuse (no more than five years/60 months from the date of hire)
  • FBI Fingerprint Check (no more than five years/60 months from the date of hire)
  • PATCH (no more than five years/60 months from the date of hire)
  • Mandated Reporter Training (no more than one year/365 days from of hire)
  • First Aid/CPR certification (must be maintained during employment period)
  • Prolonged periods of standing and frequent bending
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive behavioral assessments to identify the needs and strengths of members
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans (ITPs) based on assessment data
  • Provide training and support to educators, parents/caregivers, and other stakeholders on behavior management techniques
  • Provide supervision to the Behavior Health Technician-Applied Behavior Analysis (BHT-ABA) in the implementation of ITP interventions to build on their skillset
  • Provide oversight of cases to ensure members are receiving the most effective interventions to target their goals
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of intervention strategies, adjusting as needed
  • Collaborate with other treatment team members to ensure consistency of care across settings and providers
  • Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, ITPs, and progress notes/reports
  • Stay updated on best practices and current research in ABA and related fields
