About The Position

The Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) will lead in the delivery of quality behavior analytic treatment to individuals diagnosed with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. The LBA will build collaborative partnership initiatives for the purpose of strengthening the infrastructure of supports available to children and adolescents with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD), other developmental disorders, and/or those with behavioral or pediatric feeding challenges. In conjunction with Kelberman’s clinical, educational, and administrative leadership teams, the LBA will provide direct services and support to existing programs consistent with best practices in the field using evidence-based practices. The LBA will provide support in our clinic, school consultation, educational, residential, and/or community-based programs based on the needs of the organization.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education or related field.
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst certification required.
  • NY License in Behavior Analysis required, or license eligible.
  • 2 Years relevant experience in a related field.
  • Advanced Computer Skills (Including Windows, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, Word, Excel).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances are warranted.
  • Travel and transport is required. Must have a valid NYS Driver’s License and require reliable transportation.
  • This position has regular and substantial unsupervised or unrestricted physical contact with individuals receiving services and is required by law to be fingerprinted for a criminal history record check under OPWDD (Office for People with Developmental Disabilities) and/or OCFS (Office of Child and Family Services).
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, implements, and supervises the implementation of assessment and treatments (behavior reduction and skill acquisition) based on behavioral analytic principles drawn from the literature.
  • Provides support to individuals and their families by coordinating and providing applied behavior analytic services, including functional behavior assessments and analyses and function- matched behavior intervention plans.
  • Develops individualized goals and objectives for home, community, and center-based programs and designs behavior intervention plans based on functional assessment data
  • Creates and maintains ongoing data collection systems to establish baseline and programmatic efficacy for all clients/students/residents.
  • Analyzes data on a frequent and ongoing basis to make data-based decisions.
  • Provides ongoing evaluation of behavior plans and the achievement of individual goals and objectives
  • Ensures the proper implementation of clinical behavior programs, intervention plans, data collection systems and all necessary monitoring and reporting systems for assigned client caseload
  • Meet as needed with staff and supervisees to discuss ongoing client issues and to provide support when necessary.
  • Engages in 1:1 direct client care when necessary.
  • Completes initial and re-assessments as needed to maintain insurance authorizations.
  • Completes timely session notes and reports.
  • Maintains all data, paperwork, and communication between therapists and families
  • Provides coordination of care with other providers (e.g. agencies, educators, and medical professionals)
  • Participates in staff and caregiver training and consultation, as needed
  • Keeps current with the literature, new research findings and resources to best inform development of behavioral plans.
  • Provides supervision for staff seeking board certification/licensure through the BACB/NY State including Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA), Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA), and Certified Behavior Analyst Assistant (CBAA).
  • Maintains certification and licensure per regulatory body requirements, including completion of continuing education courses.
  • Completes all required documentation according to the organization’s program regulations.
  • Participates in activities as part of the Leadership team that may include meetings, trainings, and committees.
  • Contribute to a positive work environment through collaborative teamwork and positive communication in alignment with the Kelberman’s culture, values and mission.
  • Demonstrate excellent work attendance by being punctual and reliable for all scheduled shifts and meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with all pertinent government and agency regulations and operating standards.
