About The Position

The Licensed Assistant Healthcare Facility Administrator plays a pivotal role in supporting the efficient operation of healthcare services by bridging administrative functions with patient care activities. The Licensed Assistant Healthcare Facility Administrator collaborates closely with clinical and administrative teams to maintain accurate records and facilitate communication across departments. By leveraging basic computer literacy, the role supports data management and reporting tasks essential for compliance and quality improvement initiatives. Ultimately, this position is integral to fostering a well-organized, resident-centered environment that aligns with the organization's mission and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Possess a current Health Facility Administrator's license from the State of Indiana.
  • Possess and demonstrates a high degree of leadership, organizational ability, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of long-term care management, policies, budgeting, personnel management, and census development is required.

Nice To Haves

  • A bachelor's degree in a health-care related field is preferred.
  • Experience working in a long-term care or assisted living facility.
  • Familiarity with healthcare compliance regulations and quality assurance processes.
  • Advanced computer skills, including data analysis and reporting tools.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations according to responsibilities delegated.
  • Encourages the promotion of customer service with all department heads and staff.
  • Promotes respect for the personal dignity and individuality of residents, and respect for their legal rights to quality care, kind treatment, personal comfort, personal choice, and personal privacy.
  • Promotes census building, participates in admission decisions, and consults with the Regional Director of Operations or Director of Clinical Services before rejecting admission.
  • Participate in community affairs and civic organizations.
  • Addresses resident complaints daily to assure prompt follow-up by appropriate staff.
  • May assist the HFA in the recruitment and interviewing of job candidates for key positions.
  • Positively promotes the employee program and encourages staff participation.
  • Follows employment policies and procedures for hiring, interviewing, discipline, terminations, etc.
  • Works with department heads to promote cooperation, leadership, communication, and budgetary skills.
  • Participates in the oversight of departmental compliance with budgetary parameters.
  • Follows the appropriate procedures for requesting, ordering, and receiving supplies or equipment.
  • May assist the HFA with staff education in regulatory compliance, inspection surveys, and key operational policies.
  • May participate in survey responses according to oversight duties delegated.
  • Maintains records and files associated with duties according to record-keeping standards, laws, operational procedures, and privacy laws.
  • Chairs or participates in committee activities as assigned.
  • Participates in policy development committees.
  • May be delegated overall supervision of service departments such as maintenance, housekeeping, and laundry and keeps the HFA informed about the needs or problems in these services.
