We are looking for a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor to provide substance abuse and mental health services to our inpatient teens! This position requires either dual licensure (for instance LPC and LADC), or the LADC/MH credential as the population served will be youth with dual diagnoses. Consideration may be given to licensure candidates. The ideal candidate will have strong assessment skills, organization and time management skills, treatment planning skills, therapeutic intervention skills, and will have the ability to work cooperatively with a treatment team. This therapist will be responsible for providing high quality patient care via the following job duties:

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in related field from an accredited university
  • Must hold current Oklahoma LADC/MH license, or dual licensure of LPC, LCSW, or LMFT and LADC
  • Must have training and experience treating youth with mental health and substance use disorders
  • CPR/First Aid Certification
  • Aggression Management and Trauma Informed
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English; both verbally and in writing.
  • Basic computer knowledge

  • Bilingual a plus!

Responsibilities

  • Conducts individual, family, and group therapy utilizing evidenced based practices targeted toward teens ages 13–17.
  • Displays good theoretical knowledge of psychopathology and effective treatment techniques for each type of therapy.
  • Completes psychosocial assessments and other assessments of assigned patients in a timely fashion.
  • Displays good interviewing, diagnostic, and reporting skills.
  • Functions as a patient and family advocate at all times.
  • Documents observations in the patients’ charts, reflecting implementation of the treatment plan, in a timely manner.
  • Functions as an integral part of the treatment team.
  • Participates in the development of substance abuse/mental health programming for the inpatient units.
