About The Position

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position at Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System involves providing direct age-specific care to patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role includes performing selected activities based on the Nursing process and the Resident Assessment Instrument, particularly when a Registered Nurse is not present on the Subacute unit, where the LPN will act as the charge nurse under supervision.

Requirements

• Graduate of a nursing program.
• Current license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in South Carolina.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct age-specific care to selected patients.
• Perform selected activities utilizing the Resident Assessment Instrument and Nursing process based on delegation by the Registered Nurse.
• Act as the charge nurse on the Subacute unit when a Registered Nurse is not scheduled, under the supervision of the nursing coordinator or Registered Nurse on call.
• Communicate effectively with patients, staff, and visitors of varying ages, from early adult to late adult.
