About The Position

The Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) position at Kaiser Permanente involves providing comprehensive mental health assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and crisis intervention services for adult and/or child members presenting a wide range of mental health needs. The role requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians and allied health professionals, to develop and direct individualized treatment programs for members. This position is crucial in ensuring that members receive appropriate mental health care tailored to their specific conditions. In this role, the LCSW will be responsible for developing, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating clinical treatment programs aimed at diagnosing and treating Health Plan members with acute or chronic mental illnesses. The LCSW will participate in staff conferences to select, plan, and evaluate treatment programs, providing outpatient psychotherapy to individuals, couples, families, and groups. Additionally, the LCSW will instruct and counsel patients and their families on compliance with therapeutic regimens and medication adherence, ensuring that treatment plans are followed within the scope of practice. The position may also involve administering specialized therapeutic procedures, developing and conducting psychoeducational classes, and preparing intake summaries and treatment plans while maintaining ongoing confidential records. The LCSW will chart members' treatment and progress in accordance with state regulations and community standards, and may be required to participate in the department's on-call rotation. Collaboration with physicians in screening and evaluating patients for psychotropic medications is also a key responsibility. Furthermore, the LCSW will utilize resources from public and private agencies to meet the treatment needs of members and may supervise Post Masters Fellows or Associate Clinical Social Workers as needed. The role emphasizes the importance of professional maturity, ethical integrity, and a commitment to quality service and teamwork within a highly interactive multidisciplinary clinic.
