About The Position

The Library Technician 2 position at Oregon State University is a full-time, limited duration role within the Library Experience and Access Department (LEAD) of The Valley Library. This position is primarily responsible for providing in-person and virtual circulation and reference services, assisting with course reserves, managing patron accounts, and writing documentation. The role emphasizes excellent customer service and support for a diverse population of library users, contributing to an innovative learning environment.

Requirements

• 2 years of current library experience (within five years) OR an Associate's degree (or equivalent 72 quarter hours or 48 semester hours) and 1 year of current experience; OR an equivalent combination of current library experience, training, and/or education in related fields.
• Proficiency in multiple library-specific computer applications, such as integrated library systems and database applications.

• Experience with Alma/Primo.
• Demonstrated ability to provide culturally sensitive services to a diverse population.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person and virtual circulation and reference services via chat, text, email, and telephone.
• Assist with course reserves and manage patron accounts.
• Write documentation related to library services and processes.
• Oversee student staff and coordinate student projects.
• Engage with library patrons and faculty/staff to ensure excellent customer service.
