About the position
The Library Technical Assistant (Safety) plays a crucial role in supporting library operations within the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. Under the supervision of the Supervisor of Correctional Education Program or Educational Administrator, the LTA will assist in managing library collections and facilitating inmate access to library resources. This position requires adherence to departmental regulations and policies, ensuring that all duties are performed in compliance with established guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Assist in managing the Legal or General Library collections within the institution.
- Facilitate inmate access to library resources, including performing duties in a satellite library without continuous supervision.
- Seek direction from supervisors for circumstances not covered by existing regulations or policies.
- Communicate primarily through email regarding library operations and inmate access.
Requirements
- Experience in library services or related fields.
- Ability to follow departmental regulations and policies.
- Strong communication skills, particularly via email.
