Library Technical and Access Services Internship
About The Position
Coaching and mentorship will be provided. The position is flexible to be adjusted to the level of the skills of the chosen candidate and is supervised and coached by managers with industry experience. Some of the potential duties can include: · Collaborate with staff on a deaccessioning project · Learn the basics of cataloging and work on a set of materials of various formats · Research and design a reparative metadata project tailored to the student’s interest and current metadata standards. Learn logistics, policy, and technology of resource sharing and library science
Requirements
- Must be enrolled as a student at North Central College
- Must have 8 hours per week availability.
- This internship is eligible for EDUC 498
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
