Duke University: Duke University was created in 1924 through an indenture of trust by James Buchanan Duke. Today, Duke is regarded as one of America’s leading research universities. Located in Durham, North Carolina, Duke is positioned in the heart of the Research Triangle, which is ranked annually as one of the best places in the country to work and live. Duke has more than 15,000 students who study and conduct research in its 10 undergraduate, graduate and professional schools. With about 40,000 employees, Duke is the third largest private employer in North Carolina, and it now has international programs in more than 150 countries. Be You. Be Bold. Choose Duke. Be You. At Duke, we celebrate what makes you unique. Your voice, your curiosity, and your lived experiences matter here. As the University Archives Intern for Student Engagement, you’ll play an essential role in bringing student stories to life—capturing the energy, diversity, and creativity that define Duke’s student experience. This internship is your opportunity to shape how student life is remembered for generations. You won’t just observe history—you’ll help document it. Be Bold. Step into a role where your ideas and initiative can shine. As part of the Rubenstein Library’s University Archives (UA), you’ll actively engage with student communities, strengthen Duke’s historical record, and expand the voices represented in its archives. You’ll work hands-on, build relationships, and contribute directly to making Duke’s historical record more inclusive and representative of our diverse student body.
