The Library Associate position at the City of Fort Lupton is a part-time role focused on empowering library patrons and enhancing their experience.   • Market the library by straightening, shelving, and maintaining face-out materials.
  • Provide readers' advisory services to patrons of all age levels.
  • Participate in the design and maintenance of displays and bulletin boards.
  • Occasionally develop and deliver informative and entertaining programs with guidance from a Librarian.
  • Maintain a conducive atmosphere for learning and address issues that interfere with positive patron usage.
  • Work effectively with information resources and circulation systems.
  • Perform daily library circulation operations and assist patrons with circulation services.
  • Assist with special library projects and community outreach.
  • Interact with patrons to provide assistance and maintain collections and public areas.
  • Assist patrons in finding and using library resources, including reference materials and electronic resources.
  • Support teachers and students in locating materials and completing special projects.
  • Maintain the collection through shelf reading, cleaning, and weeding.
  • Process materials and assist in the selection of materials in assigned areas.
  • Provide first-level technology support for patrons.
  • Uphold patrons' rights and comply with copyright and anti-discrimination laws.
  • Process reports for material maintenance and circulation statistics.
  • 1 year of library or similar experience required.
  • Associate degree preferred.
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational skills and library reference skills.
  • Ability to research reference questions and serve informational needs of patrons.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and able to train patrons in basic usage.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patrons and co-workers.
  • Ability to work with and troubleshoot library equipment.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Exhibit enthusiasm and vitality for the assigned position.
  • Part-time position with a pay range of $20.00 - $24.00 per hour.
