About The Position

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in any field is required.
• A minimum of two years of customer service experience is essential, with preference given to candidates with library or bookstore experience.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and basic computer skills are vital.
• Familiarity with library management systems and effective public speaking is preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with automated library systems such as Sierra and Prospector.
• Knowledge of the Dewey Decimal System of classification.
• Experience in promoting library materials and services.

Responsibilities

• Assists patrons in identifying, locating, and using library resources, including print, non-print, and digital materials.
• Performs circulation functions at the service desk, including creating patron accounts, issuing cards, and checking materials in and out.
• Provides guidance on the use of library computers and personal devices.
• Supports special services such as readers' advisory, community outreach, and marketing of library programs and services.
• Collaborates with team members to bring innovative ideas to the library experience.
