The Children’s Library Associate works in a face-paced regional branch collaborating with the Children’s Services team to create a welcoming and engaging environment for all. This position leads age-appropriate programs for children ages 0-11. Some responsibilities may include leading story time, creating and developing school-aged programs, early literacy programs, and other relevant programs. The Library Associate represents the library in the community, facilitating outreach and fostering collaborative partnerships with local organizations. The Children’s Library Associate participates in branch teams, systemwide teams and works collaboratively with staff to bring innovative and relevant programming to the community. Strong programming and outreach experience is highly desirable, along with a demonstrated ability to build and sustain positive relationships with patrons and external partners. Responsibilities also include circulation tasks, staffing service points and assisting customers of all ages with technology and library resources. The ideal candidate is a highly collaborative team player and a strong individual contributor with the ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment. The Children’s Library Associate should have strong technology and computer skills to support North County Regional Library’s s commitment to providing exemplary service to all customers through technology, computer assistance, research, and readers’ advisory. Rotating schedule will include including one weekend every three weeks, and one evening every week. The Children’s Services Library Associate delivers a high level of quality library services ensuring the provision of value-added experiences for all customers. This position will require the candidate to perform professional and technical library work within the branch supporting system-wide and branch goals, promoting digital literacy and library resources.
