Library Aide (PT)
About The Position
Under the direction of the Access Manager, the Library Aide ensures appropriate and efficient processing and distribution of Library materials and provides basic customer assistance. This position will be at the Southern Oaks Library, located at 6900 S. Walker Avenue in Oklahoma City, OK 73139. The candidate should be available to work all hours the library is open, including some weekends and evenings. Current need requires availability to work Monday to Thursday from 4:00 to 9:00 pm. Hours are subject to change based on the needs of the library. The hiring salary for this position is $15.15 hourly. This is a part-time position working 20 hours per week and is not classified as a seasonal position. This position is not exempt from the federal Fair Labor Standards Act.
Requirements
- Minimum of one year of High school (9th grade) completed
- Minimum of 16 years of age
- Basic knowledge of library operations, policies and procedures
- Typing or keyboard skills to enter and retrieve data using a computer terminal
- Filing alphabetically, numerically, using good spelling, and performing basic math computations
- Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interact with internal and external customers in order to give and extricate information in a courteous and friendly manner.
