Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Participates in the evaluation, selection, and acquisition or licensing of library resources.
  • Works with the Director of Library Services to maintain the library's print, ebook, and digital resources.
  • Regularly evaluates and weeds resources based on identified needs.
  • Catalogs and organizes print and digital material to facilitate discovery, access, and use.
  • Plans and implements library instructional programming in collaboration with the library director and teachers.
  • Consults with faculty regarding curriculum materials and design.
  • Provides readers' advisory services as needed.
  • Provides reference and library-related technology support as appropriate.
  • Researches and assists with library resource acquisition and maintenance.
  • Enforces behavior code standards for students in the library.
  • Ensures a welcoming and well-maintained environment for students and faculty.
  • Maintains displays of books and projects within the library.
  • Develops and maintains a productive working relationship with faculty, staff, students, and community librarians.
  • Assists in the preparation of the budget.
  • Attends faculty and other pertinent school committee meetings.
  • Participates in professional organizations.
