About The Position

The Librarian position is a temporary part-time role responsible for providing library services to students, faculty, and staff at the Terry Campus in Dover, DE. The incumbent will engage in various activities including library instruction, research assistance, circulation, and collection development, while collaborating with faculty to enhance information literacy within the curriculum.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Library Science or Library and Information Science.
• Four (4) years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of standard library reference tools and interlibrary loan practices.
• Knowledge of electronic databases and cataloging practices.
• Ability to effectively communicate in a multicultural environment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with AACR2, LCSH, RDA, and MARC formats.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Serve as library liaison to faculty in assigned subject areas, developing the collection by selecting and updating resources.
• Provide information literacy instruction through tours, lectures, presentations, and workshops for students, faculty, and staff.
• Collaborate with faculty to integrate information literacy instruction into the curriculum.
• Establish procedures for the acquisition, cataloging, and processing of library materials, maintaining accuracy in library records.
• Implement mandates for U.S. Government Depository Libraries and make recommendations for library equipment and software.
• Evaluate and select electronic library resources, overseeing online reference services and collaborating with other librarians.
• Market the library collection and services through various channels including publications and presentations.
• Monitor advances in the library profession through professional literature and conferences.
• Participate in setting and evaluating library goals and objectives as part of the annual assessment process.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Benefits

• Salary of $42.50/hour
• Flexible working hours on Mondays to Thursdays from 4:30pm to 9:00pm.
