About The Position

Lincoln Academy is seeking a Librarian Long-Term Substitute to support library services, student learning, and instructional collaboration during a temporary assignment. This role supports students and staff by maintaining an organized, welcoming library environment and assisting with literacy, research, and information access aligned with school needs. This is a part-time position (Feb-May 2026). A Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required.

Requirements

  • Experience working with students in a school or educational setting preferred
  • Interest in literacy, books, and student learning
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and follow established procedures
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding student information
  • Basic proficiency with computers and educational technology
  • Experience using Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive) preferred
  • Ability to learn and use library management or school information systems
  • Comfortable assisting students with basic technology needs
  • Ability to work in a school library setting
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 20 lbs
  • Ability to supervise students in a shared learning space

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
  • Experience using Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming library environment for students and staff
  • Assist students in locating, selecting, and using library materials
  • Support literacy development and foster a love of reading
  • Assist with circulation processes, including checking materials in and out
  • Maintain accurate library records and inventory
  • Support classroom teachers with instructional materials and resources as requested
  • Assist students with basic research skills and responsible use of information
  • Promote appropriate use of library technology and digital resources
  • Support school initiatives related to literacy, research, and academic enrichment
  • Supervise students in the library space and maintain clear behavioral expectations
  • Enforce all school-adopted policies and procedures
  • Communicate professionally with students, staff, and administration
  • Perform other duties as assigned during the long-term substitute assignment
