About The Position

Belgrade School District provides instructional, athletic, and activities opportunities for more than 3,200 students from the community of nearly 14,000 residents. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited University or College.
  • Valid State of Montana Educator License.
  • Library Endorsement Grade 5-12 or K-12
  • Successful work experience performing similar duties and responsibilities.
  • Montana Driver’s license or the ability to obtain license within three months of hire date.
  • Skill in classroom instruction.
  • Skill in adhering to safety practices.
  • Skill in operating equipment used in a classroom setting, including a computer, planning and managing projects.
  • Skill in preparing and maintaining accurate records and using pertinent software applications.
  • Knowledge to perform math, read technical information, compose a variety of documents, and/or facilitate group discussions
  • Knowledge to analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions.
  • Knowledge of safety practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of stages of child development.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from students, parents and staff.
  • Ability to schedule activities, meetings, and/or events, gather, collate, and/or classify data and use job-related equipment.
  • Ability to be flexible to work with others in a wide variety of circumstances, work with data utilizing defined but different processes, and operate equipment using standardized methods.
  • Ability to work with a diversity of individuals and/or groups, work with a variety of data and utilize specific, job-related equipment.
  • Ability to problem solve to analyze issues and create action plans.
  • Ability to manage time and responsibilities, adapt to changing work priorities, communicate with diverse groups, maintaining confidentiality, meet deadlines and schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining a school library collection to support the educational goals of the district.
  • Overseeing the acquisition, organization, maintenance, utilization and retention of materials and equipment in the Library.
  • Provides faculty library resources that support the subject areas being taught.
  • Manages, or assists in managing, the library budget.
  • Participates in researching and developing grant proposals.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of, builds and arranges specialized information resources.
  • Provides for computerization of the acquisitions and cataloging function.
  • Responsible for teaching students and staff how to access and use resource information in the library.
  • Instructs students in developing research skills and related use of technology.
  • Organizes, trains and directs library staff.
  • Supervises students.
