About The Position

CICONIX is seeking a Librarian to support the National Museum of Health and Medicine (NMHM) in Silver Spring, MD. Administers the selecting, acquiring/procuring, cataloging, authority and serials controlling, processing, digitizing, binding, preserving, and organizing all types of books and non-book materials. Performs descriptive and subject cataloging and classification of monographs, serials, government and military documents, legal and legislative materials, dissertations, audio-visual materials (i.e., CD-ROMS, DVDs, videos, CDs, audio cassettes, and microforms). Develops and maintains a cataloging and classification database. Organizes, shelves, and inventories existing and incoming collection items. Provides comprehensive reference, research, advisory, evaluative, instructional and acquisition services to individuals or groups in related departments. Receives OSHA required annual physical for non-lab-based collections staff.

Requirements

High School Diploma required.
Three (3) - Five (5) years of experience.
U.S. Citizenship and a successful background investigation are required.
Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
Willingness to comply with the government vaccination requirements.
