Requirements

Responsibilities

• Catalog a variety of materials in an automated cataloging environment.
• Search entries in automated and manual catalogs.
• Assign headings and classification numbers to catalog entries.
• Establish personal and corporate names and uniform titles for inclusion in the name authority file.
• Create and revise bibliographic records, authority records, and classification schedules.
• Perform content designation of bibliographic and authority records.
• Conduct research in the cataloger's reference collection and online databases.
• Coordinate proper purchasing information and correct bibliographic identification.
• Contact dealers and vendors to coordinate the order process.
• Review and approve invoices for payment for all forms of material.
• Analyze and organize standard subject data to determine its relationship to existing collections.
